27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Jesus is totally focused on His church...His bride. He wants the church to be glorious! He wants the church to be holy and without blemish. He cherishes His church and considers it a part of His body. Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ. 1Co 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. He considers us one with Him. Thus He nourishes and cherishes the church.
Jesus died and rose from the grave so that whoever believed on Him could be a part of the church, a part of His body. He made a way for us to be sanctified to Him, betrothed to Him. We are cleansed and sanctified to Him when we are washed in the waters of baptism in His Name. Our sins are washed away and we are new in Christ, members of His body, of his flesh and of his bones.
Oh the love and grace our God has bestowed upon His church that He might present it to Himself glorious, holy, without spot, wrinkle or blemish.
