Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him."
This promise that was given back then hasn't ended. It's given to as many as the Lord our God shall call. It's totally illogical and completely opposed to the Word of God to teach otherwise and to to teach that this is not for today. If God expected people to repent of their sins, be baptized in His name and then receive His gift of the Holy Spirit when the book of Acts was written then He still expects it today. God doesn't change Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not. Unfortunately people have changed and they've strayed away from what God has said. Folks we have to take God at His word and not let the philosophies of man sway us.
