Scripture of the Day - October 15, 2012

Philippians 3:10  That I may know him...

Oh to know Him, to truly know Him.... what joy, what comfort, what strength. My heart breaks for those who have no interest, no desire at all, to know their God, for His is their God whether they acknowledge Him or not. They will stand before Him one day to give an answer. What will they say? What can they say? I think they will be speechless as it hits them what they've rejected. Regret will consume them and they will cry out in despair as they are turned away from the gates of heaven. The foolishness of their decision will torment their minds forever more. What a horrible way to live out eternity. 
But to know Him... even in the fellowship of His suffering... brings such peace, such comfort in this world. Then to stand before Him and hear Him say "well done my good and faithful servant, here is your crown of life!" Wow, we'll be bursting with joy, bursting with excitement as we dance through those pearly gates!! 
Don't turn your back on Him now. Listen to Him calling you. Jesus is trying to lead you to life everlasting. Follow Him.
