Acts 27:25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
It was the third day of a raging storm. The crew had lost hope of surviving, They had done all they could do but the storm was not abating. After being absent for a while Paul stood in the midst of them saying "be of good cheer.' As the tempest tossed them like a cork they must have thought he was nuts! He admonished them that they should have listened to him and at this point I bet they wished they would have. But he does go on to tell them to be of good cheer, and this is why, FOR I BELIEVE GOD.
Many of us believe IN God but do we BELIEVE God. There is a difference. If you only believe IN God you will be tossed to and fro and more than likely perish but if you BELIEVE God no storm will take you.
We have to understand that the storms of life are there so we can see what we are made of, so we can see what lurks deep in our hearts. Peter explains that our faith must be tested so it can bring praise and honor and glory to God. Let's believe God and be of good cheer even in the storm.
