Scripture of the Day - January 31, 2012

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

I would like everyone to really take this scripture to heart. Stop and ponder the great love of God for you. While you were yet His enemy He manifest Himself in the flesh and died for you. He shed His blood to pay the penalty, to pay the consequence, for your sins. While you cursed His name, while you went against His will, while you mocked and ignored Him, while you were yet His enemy, He died for you. He paid the penalty for you so you could be brought near to Him.

Your sins had separated you from God but He made a way for you to be restored. He covered your sins with His own precious blood so you could be made righteous and enter heaven. It's not His will that ANY should perish. God's love for you is immeasurable. Supposing I was a poet I still could not put into words how wonderful His love is toward us. Why don't you bask in that love today. Cast all your burdens on Him and bask in His love.

Scripture of the Day - January 30, 2012

Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world...

If we are without Jesus we are without God. We are aliens from the citizenship. We are strangers to the promise. We have no hope.
There are those who believe that everyone is going to heaven, that all paths lead to heaven but this is simply not true. There is only ONE way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me."

Scripture of the Day - January 29, 2012

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

We've all used the expression, "I wouldn't miss it for the world", when we want to emphasize that this event, whatever it may be, is of utmost importance to us. Nothing is going to get in my way. Nothing is going to hold me back. Nothing is going to stop me from making it to this event. This is my focus, this is my goal. I wouldn't miss it for the world!

John had just written a beautiful description of the new Jerusalem that he saw coming down out of heaven. He stated who was not gaining entrance and who was.

Now I ask you...would you miss heaven for the world? Are the things of this world so alluring to you that you are willing to miss heaven over them? Are the things of this world holding you back from reaching heaven? Do you think pleasing your natural desires is more important than pleasing God...than having your name written in the Lamb's book of life?

Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a place for each and every one of us. I want to keep my name on that reservation. Don't you?

Scripture of the Day - January 28, 2012

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Oh weary Christian, why do you carry such a heavy burden that weighs you down? Why do you wear your cares on you face? Don't you know that the JOY of the Lord is your strength. Cast ALL your cares upon Him who died for you, by whose stripes you are healed. He loves you with a never-ending love. Jesus tells us to yoke ourselves with Him and THEN we shall find rest. What He expects of you is easy compared to the yoke of this world. The burden He lays on you is light compared to the burdens of this world.

This they knew of old for the psalmist wrote in Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

I am reminded of the song What a Friend We Have in Jesus.

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessèd Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

Scripture of the Day - January 27, 2012

Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

These are pretty strong words that we ought to heed. False teachers were starting to come into the church even back then. Paul and the other apostles warned the saints over and over to not stray from what they have been taught...the doctrine of Christ...the doctrine that Jesus taught his disciples...the doctrine that Jesus commanded His disciples to spread to ALL nations. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that this doctrine was only for those days... that it's not for today.

Those who teach that we have a new revelation are teaching false doctrine and leading others astray. There is no 'new' revelation...only the revelation of Jesus and the hope of His calling, which is for every sorry soul to be saved from ending up in a horrible place.

Those who teach that we don't have to follow what the apostles taught in the book of Acts are teaching a false doctrine and are accursed. Those who teach that you only have to believe are accursed. Those who teach that you don't have to repent of your sins, get baptized in the name of JESUS for the remission of those sins and receive the Holy Spirit, which seals our inheritance are accursed.

Do I offend you with these words? Well, Jesus was a stumbling block and a rock of offense too. The enemies of Christ hated Him and crucified Him. They hated to hear that their tradition was wrong... that they were wrong. They refused to repent and follow Christ...instead they crucified Him.

Don't you crucify Him today. Don't call His word a lie. Seek Him while He may be found. Get aboard the ark before it's too late. Save yourself from this untoward generation. Now is not the time to play games with God. Now is not the time to follow every wind of doctrine. Now is the time to stay the course that God has laid out for you in His word.

Scripture of the Day - January 26, 2012

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints...

Paul prayed this prayer for the saints of the church. (In the Bible days 'saint' is what they called people who went to church. Saint refers to those who have separated themselves to God.) Anyway, he prayed for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of JESUS. There are people who have claimed 'revelation' and have come up with new doctrines and whole new religions even. This revelation did not come from God obviously, because anything that strays from the word of God is not a revelation from Him. Think about it! Why would God give us His word then 'reveal' other things to certain people? That just doesn't make sense... even to the natural mind.
Folks we need the eyes of our understanding enlightened, we need that light shining bright! We have to understand what we have in Jesus and the inheritance we have in heaven because of HIM.

Scripture of the Day - January 25, 2012

Genesis 8:9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returnedunto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
We have heard the comparison of the church being like Noah's ark.... whoever was to be saved had to get on board that ark or they would perish in the flood. This lone dove can symbolize those of us in the church who decide to leave. When we leave the Lord we will find no rest. We may learn to make do with what the world has to offer but we don't have that peaceful rest that passes all understanding. Just as the dove returned, we can return at any time and our gracious Lord always has His arms open wide for us. His hand will pull us into safety. There is no safer place to be than in the arms of Jesus.
Why don't you come to Him today, all you who are weak and heavily burdened? Why don't you return to Him today, all you who walked away and you will find rest for your soul?

Scripture of the Day - January 24, 2012

Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD'S purpose that prevails.

I read this proverb on the bottom of a note pad that I have and it just hit me like a tonne of bricks. We can conjure up so many ideas in our minds that are far from the will of God but we have ourselves convinced that we are right and we push on, insisting on our will being done. Our perceptions are often skewed therefore we can't see straight and we end up straying (sometimes crashing) off the path we should be on. We use our own reasoning and understanding which often reflects our perceptions, which are often skewed. Do you see the vicious circle?

It is imperative to rely totally on the Word of God for every aspect of our lives. His ways are far above our ways and ALL His ways are just and perfect. Remember that our carnal nature is enmity with God so we cannot rely on our natural mind to make sense of things. God's laws are supernatural...they are above the natural...they transcend the natural. Often times we have to shut out what our natural mind says makes sense and follow the Word of God in situations, even if if goes against our grain.

Bottom line is...you might as well get with the program because it is God's purpose that prevails not ours.

Scripture of the Day - January 23, 2012

Job 1:9 Does Job fear God for naught?

This wicked question was asked by satan because he is continuously stirring the pot. He is continuously trying to torment and taunt the saints of God. Job never once railed against God, no matter how bad things got for him. Oh yes, he bemoaned his situation and even regretted that he was born but he never cursed God as his wife suggested he do.

There maybe more justice for that question today though. How many people only serve God when the going is good? When all is going well in their lives? But as soon as things start heating up they run...claiming God has abandoned them...forsaken them... God doesn't care about them and on and on the railings go. Don't you know dear saint that for gold to be pure it must go through the fire? God will test your character, He will test your faith and Peter explains that when Jesus returns He will be looking for saints who have gone through the trials of their faith and have come out pure, and we are more precious than gold.

Scripture of the Day - January 22, 2012

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Saved through faith...Jesus said, if ye believe not that I AM HE, ye shall die in your sins. It's our faith in Jesus and our obedience to Him that saves us. Just believing won't do the job, just going about doing good works won't do the job, just being a good person won't do the job. Nothing we can do outside faith and obedience to Jesus will ever be good enough to get us through those pearly gates.

Scripture of the Day - January 21, 2012

Ephesians 2:3 we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

What a wonderful God! What a God of mercy and love! How can people question the goodness of God?! They say if God is so good then why is all this heartache and pain in the world? Honey, we brought it on ourselves when we sinned against Him. But in spite of that, in spite of the fact that we were dead in sin, God loved us enough to give us the gift of life!! He brought us back to life just as He brought the body of Jesus back to life. We are quickened, made alive, with Christ! And as we are made alive with Christ we are to put on the mind of Christ... think like Christ, follow His example. Our old ways are behind us we follow after Christ now.

Scripture of the Day - January 20, 2012

Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

As in the physical, there is a division between light and dark in the spiritual. What fellowship has light with dark? None. Where the light shines there is no darkness.
John tells us that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all and Peter tells us that God has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. We ought to be prisms of God's light. We ought to parallel God's goodness and let that light shine through us and radiate out to others. If we are indeed children of God, children of the light, then we ought to reflect that light, with love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience), gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance (self control).
There is a great divide between the works of the light and the works of the dark. When the Holy Spirit quickens you all things are illuminated in your eyes. You see sin for what it is and are repulsed by it. No one has to tell you to not do this or not do that...you see the distinction clearly and don't want to cross that divide.
God's word is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path...let's follow that guiding light along the narrow road to heaven and let's not let the darkness of our carnal nature blind us and cause us to lose our way.

Scripture of the Day - January 19, 2012

Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

A ship leaves port and is set on a course, a plane leaves the runway and is set on a course. This course will lead them to their destination. Pretty simple logic isn't it? Well, it's the same in the spiritual realm. When we were dead in sin we followed the course of this world, unaware, as many people are, that the destination is hell.

The prince of the power of the air set this course and, by the way, is responsible for the destination. His spirit works in people to make them disobey God's Word, rendering them dead in sin. This prince is none other than satan, who led Adam and Eve to sin against God by deceiving them of their destination.

My hope and prayer is that every person reading will make sure they are on the right ship heading on the right course leading to the right destination.

Scripture of the Day - January 18, 2012

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins...

This word quicken is old English and it means to make alive. You see our souls were dead when we lived a life of sin. What exactly is sin you may ask? Sin is going against God, sin is disobeying God, sin is ignoring God's word and doing what's right in your own eyes.
Do not be deceived as Eve was when the serpent said to her "surely you won't die." The serpent is telling people the same thing today...you won't die...everyone is going to heaven...all you have to do is believe...all you have to do is accept Christ, you don't have to obey Him...in fact, there are those who believe that you don't even have to do that! Some believe that everyone is going to heaven whether they believe in God or not! There are many paths to heaven they say!
Oh how that sly serpent has deceived so many! Until you obey the word of God you are dead in your sins. Jesus has made us alive and he expects us to follow Him. If we don't follow Him we won't get to heaven. There are no loop holes.

Scripture of the Day - January 17, 2012

Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

I want to point out to you all how incredibly important the church is. The church is not a building, although we call our buildings the church, but that just shows how we can change the meaning of things. (We need to get out of that habit.) Jesus is not coming back for a bunch of lovely buildings...He is coming back for His people, the church!

We don't go to church we ARE the church. The body of true believers who have been washed by the blood of Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit is the church. The church body is international not denominational. It's not one denomination over another that will enter heaven as some believe but it is the church, the body of Christ, the ones He has quickened (that is... made alive), the ones who have sanctified themselves unto Him.

And He is the HEAD of the church, which is His body. Are we understanding how closely connected we are to Jesus and He is to us. We, the church, are considered the body of Christ, we are one with Him. When Paul was struck down on the road to Damascus and asked the Lord who he was, the voice said, "I am Jesus whom you are persecuting." This is how closely connected we are to Jesus!! Never take the church lightly and be careful what body you attach yourself to. Jesus knows who are His, he won't be fooled by counterfeits.

Scripture of the Day - January 16, 2012

Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

God had a perfect plan destined for a perfect time. Everything that is going on in this world is happening in the perfect plan of God. It may seem to us like the world is spinning out of control and it is indeed. It's been doing that since Adam and Eve sinned against God. (thanks guys!) But God has all things under control and he has an escape route all planned out for us. He has predestinated an inheritance for us. He has the whole world in the palm of His hand and He has each and every one of us in the palm of His hand too. We need not fear what is going on in this world today for our inheritance is in heaven. Nothing can change that for God is not subject to anyone or anything else...He does His own will!!

Scripture of the Day - January 15, 2012

Ephesians 1: 19 ... the exceeding greatness of his power to us–ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ...

Get this...Christ's power does not lie in making a believer then leaving him high and dry...no, no, no, He who began a good work in you will complete it. Our God is mighty to save and He will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world. He is mighty to give you a new heart of flesh to replace your stoney heart. He is mighty to make the person who hates holiness love it and serve Him with gladness. He is mighty to constrain the person who hates His name to bend her knee before Him. He is mighty to work miracles in the lives of people.
Never doubt what the Lord can do in your life...never doubt what the Lord can do in the life of a loved one you are praying for...He is mighty to save!!

Scripture of the Day - January 14, 2012

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love...

God Almighty has blessed us in Christ. He manifest HIMSELF in the flesh as Jesus Christ to reconcile us to HIMSELF. God had this planned from the very beginning. He was not caught unaware, this was not plan B, and he did not look around and pick a second god or a second person to go do it for Him. 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was IN Christ, reconciling the world unto HIMSELF...
He knew He would have to do this so we could be holy before Him. No unholy thing will enter heaven and God has given us all equal opportunity to enter heaven through Jesus Christ. Now if that isn't love...what is?!

Scripture of the Day - January 13, 2012

Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Obedience and commitment are evil words these days. No one wants to commit and for sure no one wants to obey. Those terms are for the dark ages, we're enlightened now, we don't need to obey, we shall do what is right in our own eyes. We shall interpret God's word our own way and leave out all that nasty obedience stuff we don't like. As long as we feel good about ourselves that's all that matters.
I have disturbing news...Jesus is coming back for a holy church, without spot or wrinkle! He is not coming back for a stubborn rebellious generation who will not submit themselves to God. Christ loved the church so much that He died for it and it is this obedient church He is coming back for. He is the bridegroom coming back for the bride who loves Him.
You may ask "how will He know that I love Him?" Jesus answered that question when He said, "if ye love me obey my commandments". There ya have it, cut and dry, plain and simple, no loop holes.

Scripture of the Day - January 12, 2012

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children...

Too many parents today don't have time to properly train their children and they expect the school system and the government to provide the training. All we have to do is look at what many of the young people are involved in to see that this way of thinking is damaging to the children and to society in general. The rates of crime, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying, swarming, and teen suicide are climbing. This is a direct result of parents not having time for their children and therefore not teaching and training them properly.
The Bible says to train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Pr 22:6)
Folks, we need to teach our children God's ways because it's the only way they are going to be able to counter the ways of this world.

Here is a very powerful 4 minute blurb. You don't want to miss this. Don't bother reading the comments, some are pretty crude.

Scripture of the Day - January 11, 2012

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ...

We are expected to continuously grow, never to stagnate. Have you ever been near a stagnant pond? It is full of sludge, looks pretty ugly and it stinks. About the only things that can live in a stagnant pond are mosquitoes and other undesirable pests.
Folks, we don't want to be full of sludge, we don't want to have an ugly countenance and we don't want to have a stinky attitude. No one will want to be around us if we are like that, except of course, others of the same mind. Birds of a feather flock together.

Scripture of the Day - January 10, 2012

Psalm 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness!!

To the saint of God...do you serve the Lord with gladness, out of love, or do you serve him with sadness, out of obligation? What good is it to serve Him if you are merely going through the motions and don't want to from your heart? God is not looking for robots to dance around His throne... rather for children who love Him. Your joy is a test of your sincerity! If you don't serve the Lord with joy then you are not sincere! And what kind of relationship is that?

Scripture of the Day - January 9, 2012

2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

I was sitting in Starbuck's North Vancouver hearing a conversation (they were talking very loudly) about people who hire a life coach to help them make decisions in their lives. One guy was commenting that he can see how this would be valuable because you are listening to someone who doesn't care about you but is giving you advice based on how they see things. Good grief!! What next!! People will listen to pretty near anything but the truth!! There are even so called christian churches teaching the most bizarre things and people are falling for it left right and center.

Please folks, stick to the Word of God. Don't stray from it. It doesn't matter what the people of this world come up with the Word of God is true and doesn't change. It is forever settled in heaven and if you want to make heaven your home when you leave this crazy world then you better stick to what God says on the matter.

Scripture of the Day - January 8, 2012

Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you...
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

God has made a covenant with us that He will never break. We can trust Him. Let's focus on that and seek Him while He may be found...even those who have turned their backs on Him ... He loves us all with an everlasting love...remember that...His arms are always open to welcome whosoever will.

Scripture of the Day - January 7, 2012

Joshua 5:12 And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

Folks this is our year! We have eaten of the old corn of the land but no more. We are going to eat of the fruit of the new land. God has promised that He will bring revival in the last days and revival we will have. Those who have labored for so long will reap the harvest! Those who have just begun will also reap the same harvest! The Lord has promised that we shall reap and reap we will. Paul admonished us to weary not in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. Don't faint, don't grow weary, don't give up the fight. Our Lord has already conquered this world and we are just following in His victorious footsteps!! Keep your feel shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace and you will march to victory!!

Scripture of the Day - January 6, 2012

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

The Lord your God is with you and He cares about you. You have no reason to be afraid, you have no reason to fret. He will give you strength, He will help you. In fact, He is always there to help in time of trouble. God Almighty, who hung the stars and set the mountains, who limits the seas and controls the winds, all by His spoken word, can and will give you strength.
The only thing that limits God is your faith. If you don't have faith He can't work in your life. If you don't believe He can and will then He won't. The ball is in your court. God is able and He is willing but you have to trust Him. Are you willing to do that?

Scripture of the Day - January 5, 2012

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.

Word peace...everybody is crying out for world peace...but we never get world peace. People have been at war with each other ever since Cain killed Abel. James so clearly points out that wars come from inside us because of our lusts...lust for power, lust for dominance, lust for control and the list of lusts goes on. Today the world is sitting on a powder keg that is on the brink of exploding and when it does it will destroy 1/4 of mankind. This world cannot give peace. True peace comes from Jesus. He has overcome the world and those who receive Him can also overcome the world. Those who receive Him can have true peace, not the fickle fleeting peace that the world has to offer but the deep everlasting peace that only God can give. If you really want peace, let Jesus come into your heart.

Scripture of the Day - January 4, 2012

Isaiah 41:1...let the people renew their strength: let them come near...

We need to eat food and drink water every day to renew our physical strength. Our bodies would fade and die if we didn't continue to nourish them. We also need to rest every night to let the body recharge for the next day. Have you ever gone without sleep? It's very difficult to function properly if you've been deprived of sleep. In fact, sleep deprivation is a form of torture. Have you ever gone without food and water for any length of time? The body becomes weak and you feel sluggish.
We experience the same in the spiritual as we do in the physical. We have to renew ourselves spiritually every day or we become sluggish and our thinking becomes clouded. We have to draw from God to keep our spirit functioning properly. Our spiritual strength is from the Lord. We have to realize that and draw near to Him. We also need rest in our spirit so we cast our burdens on Jesus for He is our rest.
We can take a cue from our physical self to understand the same needs in our spiritual self and do something about it.

Scripture of the Day - January 3, 2012

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

This phrase "be careful for nothing" means don't be anxious. Paul is trying to convey to us that if we put all our trust in God then He will take care of us. Jesus told us the same thing when he walked the earth. Seek ye first the kingdom of God...if the Father in heaven is watching over the sparrow then He is surely watching over us.
Let's cut right to the chase here...when you fret and worry you are NOT trusting God. In fact, when you fret and worry you are interfering in God's plan for your life, you are meddling in what God wants to do for you. You are taking control and not allowing God to work in your life. You are disobeying God therefore you are sinning! God told us to busy ourselves seeking His kingdom and He will supply all our needs. But we tend to do the reverse...we busy ourselves attempting to supply our needs while neglecting the things of God.
Let's start this new year really trusting God. Let's seek His kingdom first in all we do and reap the bountiful blessings He has in store for us.

Scripture of the Day - January 2, 2012

2 Corinthians 7:9  Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10  For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Here is a perfect example of the stark contrast between God's ways and the ways of this world. Godly sorrow leads to salvation. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He didn't come to condemn but to love and to give life. When you realize that you are a sinner and you come to God asking forgiveness, He lifts that burden of sin from you and makes you righteous. He doesn't condemn and punish, He forgives and comforts. He wraps his loving arms around you and welcomes you.
The world condemns and brings shame. If you feel condemned, that's not from God. If you feel ashamed, that's not from God. It pays to know the word of God so you know what's from Him and what's from this world.

Scripture of the Day - January 1, 2012

Hebrews 4:12-13   For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13  Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

This world is a crazy place with all sorts of ideas and "truths" floating around. It's hard for many people to know what's rights and what's not. Everybody is doing what feels good to them. But there is a truth to live by, there is a way that is right, there is a way that will lead to eternal life in heaven and the Word of God is the light that leads us in that way. The difference in WORD and WORLD is the letter L. L stands for liar and the father of lies is satan. That is precisely why the world is in such a mess. People are believing the lies of satan over the truth of God's Word.

If you want to be able to discern truth from fallacy you need to know the Word of God. The Word of God will cut through all the garbage and get to the heart of the matter. Get the Word of God into your mind so you have wisdom from above to guide you in all your decisions. Let this be your new year's resolution!!

Scripture of the Day - December 31, 2011

Ecclesiastes 7:8   Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.

Sometimes beginnings can be rough. It takes time and effort to work out the kinks in a thing...trial and error...and we learn from our mistakes.  Mistakes are  stepping stones to great things when you learn from them and move forward.
But when you don't learn and you live in the past mistakes can be a millstone around your neck, slowly choking the life out of you and holding you back from great things..
Look to the future and know that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord and are called by Him.
