Scripture of the Day - January 18, 2012

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins...

This word quicken is old English and it means to make alive. You see our souls were dead when we lived a life of sin. What exactly is sin you may ask? Sin is going against God, sin is disobeying God, sin is ignoring God's word and doing what's right in your own eyes.
Do not be deceived as Eve was when the serpent said to her "surely you won't die." The serpent is telling people the same thing won't die...everyone is going to heaven...all you have to do is believe...all you have to do is accept Christ, you don't have to obey fact, there are those who believe that you don't even have to do that! Some believe that everyone is going to heaven whether they believe in God or not! There are many paths to heaven they say!
Oh how that sly serpent has deceived so many! Until you obey the word of God you are dead in your sins. Jesus has made us alive and he expects us to follow Him. If we don't follow Him we won't get to heaven. There are no loop holes.
