Scripture of the Day - February 9, 2012

Ephesians 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel...

Back to Ephesians...In the first few verses of this chapter Paul gives an explanation of why he is preaching to the gentiles. We are in the dispensation, or the time period, of grace and because of grace we can be heirs of the kingdom of God. We are heirs by the gospel of Christ. We are grafted into the family of God through our faith in Jesus.

The love of God is so profound, overwhelming even. God Almighty reached down to us...manifest Himself in human flesh...paid the penalty for our sins so we could have that glorious inheritance we did not deserve...but because of His grace and mercy we are adopted in and can cry Abba, Father. Romans 8:15 ... ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Let's bask in that love today and come to an understanding of how much He loves us and how fervently He is watching over us.
