Scripture of the Day - September 24, 2012

Luke 5:32  I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

There are people who are righteous because they are already in a state of repentance, but there are those who are self-righteous...that is, they are righteous in their own eyes and they see no need for repentance. They will not hear the Word of God because they know better.
We are all sinners in the eyes of God and we all need to be in a state of repentance if we want to make heaven our home. Is there an area in your life that you are not repenting? Perhaps you should ask God to search your heart. His Word does a really good job at's sharper than a two-edged sword, it gets right to the chase, nothing is hidden, every motive is laid bare because God's Word discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. Read His Word and let it convict you so you are on the right side of righteous.
