Scripture of the Day - October 4, 2012

Romans 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

It is essential to hear the preaching of the Word by men or women sent by God. Therefore it is essential to go to church because that is where you will hear the preaching. There are many who refuse to go to church for a variety of reasons (excuses really). They are missing out on so much.
Preaching encourages, uplifts, enlightens, instructs, imparts wisdom, convicts...oooh now that's what people don't like...people don't like to be convicted, they don't want to admit that perhaps they're not on the right track, that they ought to change the way they think.
We are a stubborn and stiff-necked generation and we don't like to be told anything. I'll do it my way seems to be the motto but God says "All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people." He sent His preachers but they would not listen. He is still sending His preachers today but many won't listen.
Folks, don't be stubborn, don't be full of your own foolishness, go to church, listen to the preacher and save your soul.
